PeeringDB, an online database where participating networks contribute information about their peering policies, traffic volumes and presence at various geographic locations. Although established to support the practical needs of operators, this data also provides a valuable source of information to researchers. Peeringdb data is collected by PeeringDB (http://www.peeringdb.com), a non-profit member-based organization. Version 1 of the data was constrained to MySQL which lacked security features and was not scalable. In addition there was no data validation. There were some typos and a potential risk of exposing contact information to spammers. Starting at the end of March 2016 PeeringDB switched to a new version of data schema and API exposure. The only repository of historic data is located in CAIDA that was dumping daily sql snapshots of version 1 data from July 2010 till March 2016. Version 2 data are downloaded daily since May 2016.
